      Welcome

      LURITEC

Water as a resource, an economic and image factor for towns and cities – there is scarcely any other topic that concerns people more at the beginning of the 21st century. Since resources are limited and threatened by pollution, pure water is becoming increasingly valuable – and protecting it is becoming more and more important.

The origin of the idea for LURITEC.

Rivers and lakes are often heavily polluted in towns and cities. The cause of this is inflow of waste water from the mixed sewer system. When the capacity of the sewer system is exhausted during heavy rainfall, the mixed water composed of rain and household sewage is fed unfiltered into the waters.

      LURITEC solves this problem.

      Modular system

The inflows are considerably reduced by an innovative technology that is unique in the world. A modular system composed of interconnected containers is installed directly in the waters downstream from the inflow points. The installation is located below the surface of the water and is anchored to the riverbed. If overflow occurs owing to heavy rainfall, LURITEC absorbs and stores the waste water. Once the sewer is free again, the water is pumped back.

LURITEC is the first rain overflow basin to be prefabricated at the factory. The installations developed in collaboration with the Technical University of Berlin, the Berlin Competence Centre for Water and the KSB company can be delivered and installed within the shortest period of time. Owing to the prefabricated nature of LURITEC, many planning and approval procedures are dispensed with for the user; elaborate construction work in urban areas is avoided.

      This makes LURITEC cheaper.

By relocation in rivers and lakes, use of alternative materials and serial prefabrication, LURITEC is up to 40 per cent cheaper in comparison to conventional rain overflow basins.

LURITEC offers more over and beyond the function as a mixed water reservoir.

The surface of the system creates space for many uses: reed islands, gardens, platforms or development with outdoor cinemas and cafés.
