The Technical University of Berlin is a research partner of LURI.watersystems.GmbH. The cooperation is performed with the research institutes and departments of urban water management, building and construction materials testing, foundation engineering and soil mechanics, water management and hydraulic informatics.
The TUB supports the project with the site investigation, flow simulation and consulting on materials and urban water management.
The Kompetenzzentrum Wasser Berlin (KWB - Berlin Centre of Competence for Water) is an international centre for water research and knowledge transfer. KWB links the water knowledge of Berlin´s universities and research institutes, the Berlinwasser group of companies and Veolia as international provider for environmental services. Together with stakeholders, KBW works at the preparation and implementation of water management research projects.
The KWB compiled a waste load simulation for SPREE2011 to determine the hydraulic and qualitative load of the pilot plant in Berlin.
The interdisciplinary architecture firm cet-01 was founded in Berlin in 1995. During its last ten years the partners Nancy Couling and Susanne Schnorbusch in many projects implemented integrated strategies for urban development.
For SPREE2011, cet-01 performed the preliminary work on planning, design and permitting as well as an urban planning study and the architectural design for the platform superstructures.
Heike Koenig as an architect is a certified expert in the construction industry and deals with all building phases. Since 1993, she works independently. Her field of activity includes design and realization of single-family homes, building renovation, urban design, planning and controlling. For the SPREE2011 project her office is responsible for the construction management of the pilot plant in the Eastern Harbour of Berlin.
The consulting firm UBC was founded in 1996 by the qualified biologist Georg Darmer. Their major activities include the support of approval for landscaping and environmental planning projects and the implementation of nature conservation projects.
Since the beginning of the SPREE2011 project UBC has handled all the related licensing and permit requests.
With offices in Berlin, Dortmund and Luxembourg, the engineering firm HEG was founded in 1991 and is specialized in structural planning. In addition to building and industrial projects, HEG also has elaborated projects with glass and dome structures and performs damage reports on existing buildings.
HEG is fundamentally responsible for the structural analysis and structural design of LURITEC. Furthermore HEG developed the foundations of the system and calculated the possible payload.
AKUT, established in 1988, specialized in environmental technology solutions and operates internationally in the Spanish-speaking market at the implementation of waste water technologies, knowledge transfer, building services and local heat supply concepts. AKUT is situated in Berlin and in Biesenthal near Berlin.
Their planning team is responsible for the conception, selection and optimization of LURITEC´s equipment.
Actemium provides innovative service in the areas of business management systems, automation, electrical engineering, measurement and control technology. As a system integrator for the process industry, ACTEMIUM offers solutions for consulting, engineering and installation services on all levels.
For the SPREE2011 project, ACTEMIUM performed the entire electrical design.
Berliner Wasserbetriebe (BWB) is the largest company and core business of the Berlinwasser Group. Berliner Wasserbetriebe stands for tradition. The first waterworks facility in Berlin went into operation in 1856. Today BWB provides service to 3.7 million people in Berlin and Brandenburg area with drinking water, ecological disposal and treatment of waste water. With its know-how, Berliner Wasserbetriebe is one of the most important players in the international water and waste water business.
The BWB co-financed the feasibility study for the realization of SPREE2011. Also, they support SPREE2011 on the assessment of the pilot plant, the trial operation and with technical assistance.

KSB supports SPREE2011 with their engineering knowledge and gratuitously provides aggregates for the research project.
